About

N. Çağatay Yiğit is a director, photographer, and editor based in Ankara, Turkey.

This website serves as both a living archive of his work across film, photography, and publishing, and as an open resource for those interested in independent image-making and collaboration.

His practice moves between documentary, fiction, and visual essays, often exploring themes of home, migration, and the transformation of space.

Çağatay’s approach to filmmaking and photography is guided by observation and rhythm—allowing the real and the imagined to overlap through lived experience.

He has directed short films such as Traces of Jansen (3rd Place, Türk-Alman Dostluğu Short Film Contest), Velox, and Ne Var Ne Yok (First Pick, Çek-Yat Overnight Film Jam), alongside a growing body of music videos for 163, Misucmaker, and Glass Beams.

Parallel to moving image work, he develops long-form photographic projects such as Leaving Ermenek, and book-based works like HOME AWAY HOME and the photonovel SNAP!!!.

His belief is that image-making is always a collaborative act—a process of listening, responding, and reshaping.

Across formats, his goal remains the same: to create spaces where personal narratives and collective memory can meet.
